Planning a Wedding Reception My company and I have catered wedding receptions since 1973, and I have reason to brag that we have probably catered the most wedding receptions of anyone — in mansions, townhouses, lofts, condos, and our penthouse. It has always been fun, exciting and challenging to meet new couples and plan, because each bride and couple are different.  A wedding reception is usually the first major event that a couple plans. RECENT IMPROVEMENTS (THIS WAS IN 2018) Every year and often every season we make some improvements in our venue.  Recently we have done the following: In order to carry the feeling of the stained glass and mirrors in our Main Bar around the Reception Room, we had our stained glass artisan create additional panels to accompany new mirror panels around the room, adding a spcial richness.  We changed all our bathroom door knobs and sink fixtures to chrome.  We re-polished our turn-of-the-century Palladian windows, and we embedded lights in the sills to make them shine at night. We decided to change...

LOOKING FOR A GREAT WEEKEND AT A REASONABLE COST?  Here are some key details that influence venue pricing.  In recent years Sundays have been less in demand by clients, yet our Manhattan Penthouse on 5th Avenue is a very special daytime event venue.  Sunday events usually start at 3pm or 4pm so that guests can get back home earlier.  Although the city around us shines at night, our daytime views are great, in every direction.  Winter and Summer Fridays also are perfect opportunities for some saving.  Our Saturday night rates are moderate, however, and this causes clients to exclaim what...
